Make your voice heard! As state Legislators head back to Sacramento for another year of legislative work, CALA’s efforts to educate elected officials on the importance of Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Continuing Care Retirement Communities continues. As the people engaged in the work of Assisted Living every day, it is important for your Legislators to hear from YOU – the experts!
NEW! In addition to the traditional briefing and advocacy meetings you’ve come to expect at Advocacy Day, this year we are adding a Legislative Reception to the mix! This cocktail reception will give CALA members an opportunity to mix and mingle with Legislators and their staff in a more informal environment. Additionally, the reception will also give Legislators who were unable to meet with Advocacy Day participants directly due to committee hearings and other commitments an opportunity to come meet their constituents!
Your participation will help shape the Legislature’s understanding and impact of pending legislation introduced this year. Register today and make a difference by:
- learning about CALA’s legislative priorities;
- meeting with Legislators and discussing the impact of key legislative proposals;
- and celebrating a CALA member advocate of the year who made a meaningful contribution to CALA’s advocacy efforts in 2025.
Advocacy Day begins promptly at 9:30 am with meeting logistics and tips to help you effectively advocate, followed by an issue briefing from CALA’s policy team, and legislative visits after lunch. You won’t want to miss the morning sessions that will prepare you for your afternoon legislative visits, give you the opportunity to ask questions about legislative meetings, and pick up your Advocacy Day folder.
When legislative meetings conclude, we will head back to the hotel to present our Advocate of the Year Award, fill out event evaluations, and gather with colleagues to discuss insights from the day. Finally, all participants are invited to head next door to a popular local venue to enjoy some snacks and drinks with Legislators and staff.
Don’t miss this important members-only event!
