Culinary Knockout Competition
CALA hosted its second Culinary Knockout Competition the end of last year in partnership with the SoCalGas Energy Resource Center in Downey, California. This extraordinary event provided a platform for senior living chefs to showcase their culinary mastery while mentoring promising culinary protégés from community colleges in the region and introduce them to culinary career opportunities.
The 2023 competition was a day filled with camaraderie, mentorship and culinary excellence. Participating companies and senior living representatives had the opportunity to network with other industry professionals and spotlight career opportunities at their dedicated tables.
The highlight of the event was the grand moment when the Culinary Knockout Champions were crowned. The deserving senior living chef not only received a magnificent championship belt but also a dazzling crystal award, and students were awarded valuable cash prizes.
